It's the beginning of Memorial Day Weekend tomorrow! This is quite possibly my favorite weekend of the year because it's always nice out, always spent at the beach and always marks the official beginning of summer. We're heading down to Bethany tonight to soak in the rays ocean side for a nice long weekend at the shore.
There's only one song I want to hear on the ride down -- cause it's a smile, it's a kiss, it's a sip of wine, it's summertime (.... and maybe because I've had a huge crush on kenny since seeing him put on one of the best concerts I've ever been to 2 summers ago.. maybe).
Cheers to summer my friends

spring is in the air!
I'm feeling a change. More like, I'm feeling defrosted.
The glacier of State College, PA is finally thawing out. This week its been sunny and in the 40s -- which feel more like the 60s compared to the last few weeks of below 10 -- and everyone seems to feel better. Our lack of being close to the sun for the past few months is all about to change -- and I couldn't be happier, I love changing seasons!
As people put away their coats and Penn State prepares to spend an absurd amount of my tuition money on landscaping, I can't help but to feel all warm inside. I'm graduating in 2 months and a few days and while I don't have it figured out yet, I'm finally ready to figure out where I'm headed
Georgia? Philly? D.C? Who knows, all long as happiness is included then sign me up. Until then bring on the final few PSU baseball games, creamery milkshakes and no jacket.
Happy pre-spring! I'm feeling a background and header change within the next few days, I don't want to look at snow covered trees anymore.

'tis the season for overplaying
My younger sister is obsessed with Christmas music, but since it's on the radio a week before Thanksgiving, I find myself sometimes becoming bitter with the overplayed Christmas songs (a la Alvin and the Chipmunks anyone?)--- so I tend to indulge in my normal music more than seasonal music during the holidays, however, there are a few, wonderful, Christmas music exceptions that I could listen to all day everyday. Enjoy!
this isn't "christmas," but to me it is.

see you next year
My favorite season is fall. I love the leaves, the weather, the colors as you drive, new school supplies, farmer's markets and football games.
To me, once Thanksgiving is over, fall is also over. This may not be technically true, but that's how I mark it. After Thanksgiving I'll transition into a heavier coat accompanied with a hat and gloves. I'll plan out everything I need to buy for Christmas. I'll get end of the semester drinks with those who are are graduating and listen to hours upon hours of Christmas music and "winter song" by Ingrid and Sara. And when I sit in Starbucks, and look out the windows, my view will be obstructed by big snowflake stickers pressed onto the glass.
It's a great time of year, but as it gets colder, I'll grow nostalgic for fall. This year's fall season was amazing, it was also my last one living in State College, a town with quite possibly the most beautiful fall season in PA.
Even though the holidays are just around the corner, for these next few days, I'm going to hold onto fall for as long as I can. I'm going to wear just a fleece and marvel at every yellow, orange and red leaved tree I pass. I'm going to keep listening to my Fall2010 playlist on iTunes and burn my pumpkin spice candle until it's all gone.

So, my dear fall, you are leaving as quickly as you came. But I'll look forward to seeing you next year in a new town. Please come early and stay late. It's been, as always, another fantastic season.
Love, Jules

Spring
I created this blog for a class back in the fall semester, however since it will eternally abide in cyber-space, I might as well keep up with it.
Outside of the world wide web, spring time has hit Happy Valley and it's absolutely beautiful. There is only one week of classes left, plus finals. I cannot even begin to comprehend where this year went. I feel as though I have learned so much this year, about myself and others. I am so thankful for that.
So praise God for things like spring
