morning storms

Nashville weather has been a funny and fickle thing, in my two weeks here it's been filled with morning thunderstorms and spouts of rain downpours. Around noon, the skies clear and the day is (and remains) sunny as can be. Monday through Friday, it makes me want to curl up and go back to bed. But on the weekends, I love this weather. Instead of staying under my covers I want to get a cup of coffee and sit on my porch. Not even my porch - on the porch of a one hundred year old house, the kinds with the big shutters and wrap around porches - and drink coffee, listen to the morning rain and my favorite playlist.

Because of these lovely mornings, I can sit in my half-moved-into, not-really-feeling-like-home-yet apartment and feel comfortable, cozy and completely home. And that feeling of being 'home,' well, that's a very special thing.

Look at these pretty southern porches, couldn't you just sit on them all day long?

yes, please.

my favorite, I want to photoshop myself on that porch swing.
I always love Adele, but watching the rain and listening to this song this morning feels like it's the perfect fit. Her jazzy sound sooths my soul down to the core.

Happy Sunday morning everyone. I hope you all have something that makes your weekend mornings one of your favorite parts of your week.

rain, rain, go away.

Rain, rain, rain! The entire Northeast has been covered in it for a week now, I want to enjoy this last week or so of spring, so here's hoping the sun will poke through soon.

But, I will say, if I had this umbrella from Urban Outfitters, then it could rain for the rest of the summer. How cute is it?

I also love a cute pair of rain boots. I generally like the solid colored ones, but I have these anchored ones that I adore. Not only are they useful for rain, but also for - as my mom discovered - walking the dog through dewy grass on summer mornings.

word to the wise: leaving them out in the rain prohibits you from actually using them while it's raining
And, to keep it rained themed, I've been listening to my favorite Adele song all day, 'Set Fire to the Rain' give yourself some time, you'll want to repeat this over and over.  Enjoy and stay dry!

and i'm back

Spring break was wonderful! I'll write in detail and post photos tomorrow [well, later today considering that it's 12:30 am].

I got back pretty late and completely pooped last night, so today was the perfect relaxing Sunday. Waking from a 12 hour slumber, coffee made my way, a long hot shower, my itunes playing and grocery shopping and cupcake making with roommates. life is just so good.

The weather is a little dreary here, but I've been spoiled with a week of sunny warmth, so it feels natural for a chilly overcast day -- the State College way.

I can't believe my senior year spring break is over! The final stretch of my academic life has officially begun! ah!
